A bomb squad scrambled back to a Glasgow street after the alarm was raised over a second item following an incident earlier in the day.
Emergency services were called to Banavie Road shortly after 12pm on Tuesday in response to a report of “suspected ordnance” in a back garden.
A cordon was put in place around the west end street, and residents in surrounding properties were evacuated as a precaution while an explosive ordnance disposal team (EOD) dealt with the item.
Police Scotland said the device was found to be inert and posed no risk to the public.
The cordon was lifted and residents were allowed to return to their homes.
Shortly afterwards a second item, suspected to be ordnance, was discovered within the property.

A force spokesperson said: “The cordon was put back in place until EOD returned to examine the item, which was confirmed as inert and removed from the property.
“The incident has now been stood down.”
